I finally got my hands on an Extang soft tonneau cover for my truck. I will be installing it this week once I get new stainless steel hardware. I will be using soap and water to wash it, but want to use a protectant afterward to help preserve it.

Any recommendations? I know about Mothers and Meguiar's and Armor All and all there other bigger names - does one stand out above the rest for any of you? Let know know what and WHY please.

Also, would it be okay to use a leather protectant product? I have a bottle of stuff here that only says "do not use on untreated leather or suede". Don't know if I want to chance it.

Thanks!

A cream leather protectant would probably be best considering it soaks into the material and leaves no residue. Plus it won't run or drip when wet. Don't wait your money on the wipes.

All I ever did to mine was put Armor All on it. It never cracked or faded in the 4 years I had it.

Picked up a spray bottle of Meguiar's Natural Shine vinyl and rubber protectant today. Applied as directed and it made the dusty, neglected old cover look better than new.

Then didn't think about doing the tires until about 5 minutes ago. :icon_twisted:
