so yea...

Just because there are no posted signs does not mean that the land is public. There is no requirement that land owners mark private land. Even if there is a power line, the power company may not own the land. It could still be, and probably is, private land.

I would find out who owns the land and ask them if they towed the truck. If they didn't tow it, it will probably turn up as a burned out shell one day. You might get lucky, but if it was actually stolen, the odds are against it.

If you left the keys in it... It might be someones new safari vehicular. If you didn't, it might be in some farmers back yard now but it is weird that they haven't called you... It will probably turn up.

And props for going at night! Its the best time to go I think. The next level of wheeling.

Maybe it sank. Start shoveling and don't stop until you hear metal-on-metal.

i was gonna say the same thing as ranger 1989, maybe it sank but i doubt it, bcuz it shoudlve sank within the time u were there trying to get it out, but this happened to my friend, found it a week later, on another branch of the trails he was on

If it's not marked, it's not trespassing. Trespassing means that you were informed in some way that your presence wasn't desirable to the owner, and you ignored it. A sign posted a reasonable distance away or an owner yelling at you, for instance.

The power company probably isn't the land owner. They most likely just hold a right-of-way.

Report it stolen. If a legitimate removal was done, it will show back up. I think if it were local assholes they would have just beat it and burned it where it stood. Most likely it was a rollback.

I don't know how big your town is, but I would hit the phone book and start calling every towing company you can find in there. The bastards will charge $25 a day for storage, so they want it to sit for a few months...

Do let us know if it turns up.

I'd probably go looking for the nearest homes to the area, and go knocking on their door, just in case. Especially if they are farm homes, that would have the capability to pull the truck out.

Don't you have one of those beeper things that tell you where the vehicle is when you click the little button? That usually works for me in a parking lot...and if a UFO took it when that little beeper starts going off it might scare them enough into dropping it back here on earth...

Other than that, I hope it turns up for you...

I had my Skoda towed from a private lane when I was doing a drop at the head office in downtown Toronto a few years back...cost me over $100 to get it back and had to ride the subway back to my work and then come down late at night with my boss to get my car back from the pound...all because I didn't have enough money to pay for legal parking...I still have bad dreams about not finding my car...

good luck man. My buddy got his bronco stuck an left it overnight. We found it a few miles away beat to hell, windows smashed in cd player, rims an tires missing.

Hope yours turns out better. Next time camp out with the truck

i didn't leave the keys in it. but i did have a hide a key hidden somewhere on it. It definitely didn't sink. you can see the ruts where i was stuck, but not ruts of someone pulling me out, because they would have slipped a couple of times. Which leads me to believe that it was towed out. or someone had a big winch. either way, my dad is coming down here at 12 and we are going to file the report. The sheriff office said the towing company has to report the vehicles they tow, but that sometimes it takes up to 48 hrs for them to do it. I'll let yall know what happens.

damn...the wheelers worst nightmare.staying with the trucks a good idea in a spot like you describe.

ouch, really sorry for ya man, hope it turns up ok and somebody jus towed it up out of the way for ya and not some assholes beat the living hell out of it...
