Hi All,
I'm in western Mass, driving a '93 Ranger, 4x4, 3.0. The truck was down for two weeks while I poked and prodded. I ended up replacing many parts, more than the age and miles justify, but hey, it's all I've got. So heres my general question: What could have caused my multiple problems? I replaced the fuel pump and sender unit, which had arced over all three wires. I was lucky the fuel tank was full, I'm told, or it may have blown. The alternator also fried in the process, as well as the coil and computer. It's all fixed now, but after $500. in parts (I also replaced the distributor and other maintenance issues while I was tearing it apart), my new tires will have to wait, as well as my 4x4 hubs which also need replacing. I'm thinking I should find a newer model so all of my new parts will transfer when my frame rots out, which will be sooner than later. Has anyone had similar fuel pump/sender problems which wreaked havoc throughout? Thanks for your thoughts.
