... to get service recall 05s28 performed (Speed control deactivation switch bs), I get my truck back, and everything seems fine until I hear a funny noise, like a duck quacking or a little frog or something. My truck keeps making this noise about every five seconds while driving with no particular pattern, and even a few times after I shut off my truck.

Anyone have this problem or know anything about it? Does it go away or do I need to take it back to the dealership? Thanks guys.

I'm sorry, but that part right there had me laughing so hard.

Perhaps they didn't tighten something and there's play on something in your engine? And if it keeps doing it when the truck is shut off, I don't know. I didn't know things kept running in a vehicle when it's off.

I was laughing at the noise myself, it's a hard sound to describe... so that's the best I came up with :D

*Edit, it's got a kind of electrical noise or hum to it, if that makes any sense. I don't know why it does it even after I pull the key out.

the recall shouldn't be making a sound, all the recall is a pig tail with a in-line fuse. maybe the didn't clip it tight. if you pop the hood and look by the brake booster you should see the pig tail right there. just check the connections.

Pigtail eh? Mine looks like 20' of wire squeezed together and taped by a 3 year old in preschool. Oh, and some sort of fuse in the middle of the mess.

Mine looks fine... checked the connections and everything was tight :dunno: huh well I had that wire unplugged before (I unplug it everytime I go wheelin to disable ABS), was that a dumb idea or is it fine to unplug it? (excuse my ignorance)

Take it back to Ford and tell 'em your truck is ribbitting.

If the truck is quacking, take it back to Ford and tell them there's something foul about the work they did.

Do you mean like a very low pitched whine? Is it constant or like a beep? Is it coming from the dash area?

Do you have an alarm or remote start?
:icon_confused:
Yeah my truck does this, it will drain your battery if it gets worse IMO.

I think I've narrowed it down to a remote start installed by the PO that I don't have a key fob to. Where would I find a fuse for this (to pull).

I just took mine in to get that fixed last night, made my mom come with to drop it off cuz they said it would take an hour and it took all of 4 minutes...No problems since the fix tho, especially no quacking.

I have an alarm, and it seemed to be coming from the engine bay :icon_confused: but I let it sit for an hour, and drove it for about 10 miles, let it sit again, and it hasn't made the noise since... I've just driven about 50 miles so I guess its not a problem anymore.

I still wanna know what it was... it freaked me out when it was doing it, but watev, it's gone now :icon_thumby:
