So I tipped her over today....

Hah yeah good thing it was snow. I bet that reduced the paint damage quite a bit. Glad your ok. a good set of studded tires never hurt no one.

thanks! the snow comes and goes so studded wouldnt be worth it, i got more dents then a post-acne teenager's face!

Studded tires help more on the slick ice and black ice. I don't know I runn em now and they are super nice. I used to just use chains. Hah let me count my face and I'll get back to ya. :icon_twisted:

i'm assuming this is the inertia switch? apparently it wasnt tripped because truck ran for a few minutes and didnt run out of fuel :icon_confused:

Kinda looks like my truck now, Except mine went all the way over onto its' roof and landed laying on its' drivers side. FWIW, mine laid on its side for 1/2 hour til' GF mom showed up with a strap and her Trailblazer. Way it was sitting it had to be flipped back on it roof, then to the ground. Engine fired up no problem!

Thanks! I checked the local yards prices, they're around 50-60 bucks, not too bad, what do they go for around your place? Where would this rollover inertia switch be say if i'm not getting fuel and she doesnt start? And will do on the status report.

I thought I would let you know, I just got a pass. side power mirror for my truck (after some kind fellow ripped it off in the parking lot) from partstrain.com. It was less than $40 shipped. It is a cool-view brand, but fits, works, and looks just like OE. The motor is a lot quieter, but either way, it works.

Wow im just glad you are ok. Imagine you were doing like 80 down the hwy. I seriously doubt u would have walked or even lived from that one. A truck can be replaced your life can't

Yep that was the inertia switch. You'll know because it won't start at all with it tripped. It'll crank and crank (it's how you relieve fuel line pressure to change fuel filters on Rangers) I'll get you that service manual portion ASAP when I find my manual haha. She doesn't look too too bad. Just makes you feel less stressed when you dent it on the trails:D

Very minimal damage for being on it's side, I bet you could pull the dent out of the door fairly easy too. Glad you're alright.

Yea, I took 131 part way home and i was going 45 max, i saw a jeep in the ditch on the oncoming side. Well it looked like a liberty, it was hard to tell lots of snow. Yea, i woulda been done for if i were going that fast!

Yea, It didnt end up tripping i dont think, i pushed down on the thing on the top and it didnt seem to move. And it cranked over and started up. Was a little smokey from the oil in the cylinders but it'll burn off. Thanks! I just ordered a mirror and it'll be here in a few days i figure.

The door panel, I don't remember the Explorer having a bottom corner screw, just the ones in the handle area. Pull out those pins gently and you should be able to re-use them all.
