And all those that told me I wouldnt find a good one for less than a grand ......BLEH. 875.00 bitches.

Either way, Its a 1993 4x4 with the 4.0, I have a good understanding of auto hubs, manual hubs, air lockers etc. The situation I have is the one defect with the truck. WHoever had it first blew an auto hub and bought 1! yeah I said it 1! manual hub to replace the broken auto, now I have one auto and one manual and the truck pulls real hard during braking or accelerating. I have every intention to rememdy this with a PAIR of manual hubs, however how will this affect the system until I fix it? Is the auto hub the reason My truck is pulling? SHould I leave the manual locked in all the time? :icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused::dunno:

ok, you said it yourself that a pair of manual hubs will fix it...

as for driving with one auto and one manual, try locking the manual and see if that helps the pulling.....btw, does it pull to the manual or auto side?

also, since there is just one manual hub, they may not have the correct spindle nuts and have screwed it up

and $875 is decent price......especially if ya plan to pound the bitch:icon_thumby:

how do you even get 1 hub? is it a factory hub or an aftermarket hub? have you checked to see if the auto hub is stuck in the locked position?

i bought my 97 ranger for 800 bucks. it now has 469'000 kilometers on it i beat it everyweekend and it has never needed any engine work and runs like a champ. its rare to find a goood truck for cheap but it does happen and some ppl forget that

Im not sure, the drivers side is factory auto with the 4x4 still on it and everything. the pass side is the manual hub and I havent tried driving it locked yet. It pulls to the auto side when I brake. (how do you know when an auto hub is locked?) I thought that was why they were auto. (actually I thought they were locked fulltime, like the humvees. I didnt know they could unlock) I learned sumthing here.

New problem, well I knew abou tit, but new question. The button for the 4x4 dont work. It wont light up. When I push it I can here a click in the module behind hte driverside jump seat. BUt no light on the button.

u get what u pay for i wish u luck

This is a douchebag comment. If the 4x4 is the only problem I have with this trucvk, then I still got a deal, cause trucks without 4x4 go for 5 times ass much too. I got a deal. No matter how you look at it.

Didnt your momma tell you, if you got nothing nice to say....

Hubs shouldn't really effect braking, it should be constant if one is locked in.

If you think one is stuck, see if both axleshafts spin freely.

Im sorry I didnt post a fix guys. My full size spare was a 225/70/15 whilst my other three were 235/75/15. I have since remedied that and need a mild alignment. 4X4 still dont work, and I was evicted so I cantfix it now. Gotta finish gutting and rebuilding a trailer that was given to me in two weeks, Ill post more when I have time to work on the truck.
