Snowed like heck here today.. Supposed to be a dusting.. Ended up a few inches. I drove the B2 in it this morning and then halfway through switched to the wife's Ranger. I was on my way to Randy M.'s house and saw where a nissan frontier slid through a stop and headfirst into the ditch. It was a steep ditch... I felt bad so i stopped and said I would try and get him out. The intersection was a sheet of ice.. I got out and immediatly had to catch myself from falling. I hooked the tow rope onto the ball on his bumper, and the safety chain hooks on Heather's Ranger. Popped it into 4-LO and tried. For a second it wouldn't move, but then with all 4's spinning it slowly came up and almost out....when Heather said, LOOKOUT!.....
Here comes a cadillac sliding through the same intersection that claimed the very truck I was towing... It was within 10 feet of me and sliding right toward us... I threw the truck into reverse, and nailed it. It shifted hard and back I went, the car within a few inches, even as I backed up.
The kid who was driving the truck I was towing was not even in the truck trying to help back it out, so his truck then slammed back down to the bottom of the ditch. I came within inches of being creamed! So I had to start over and got him pulled out with a lot of wheelspin.... He thanked me, and I turned around, after metioning this site to another dude who stopped in a sweet white lifted ranger. As I pulled up to the dreaded intersection and tried to stop... YOu guessed it, I slide through, so I cut the wheel and gunned it so the front tires would pull me around the corner...
What a mess, but I cannot believe I pulled him up the embankment, with him not even in the truck trying to back it out on it's own power, on a sheet of ice!!
