i got a 88 super ranger 4x4 with 4inch body and 4inches of suspension lift. my local buyers snow plow dealer trying to sell me a plow and frame setup, only catch is this one is for a 1998 ranger they say it will fit my truck but i dont trust these people. does anybody know if there is a diffrence in frames.

Lots of difference. Front suspensions are totally different, and the frames reflect that.

I think there have been issues putting 98 stuff on earlier trucks.

Yup, completely different setup. Only way to make it work is to jerry-rig it or a bit of custom fab work. Plus you have to take into consideration the suspension lift - when a plow is properly installed, on level ground the A-frame should be level or close to it with the ground. Thus installing a plow on a lifted truck requires that you modify the mount on the truck side to keep the A-frame close to level. Doesn't sound like they gave any thought at all to that.
