Snoranger’s 2023 Ranger Lariat Tremor

The engine cover and MOLLE door panel inserts came in today. I was hoping to install it tomorrow, but the weather doesn’t look like it wants to cooperate with that plan.
I also got some recovery gear in today. I’ll post pics of all this stuff as I install it or find a place in the truck to store it.

I could really use that garage, I’m getting to old to work out in the cold.

You're not the only one. I like my fresh air shop when the weather is decent. But really wish I had a big shop to park in and have room for tool/parts storage, generous work benches, fabrication area, lift, and wrenching area.

My lottery tickets have not been cooperating with me.

Right there with you guys, although I have a small shop in a pile in the yard, it still requires a machine and money…

I had a really productive day today… I managed to install a set of shackles on the rear bumper.

And the (as @Jim Oaks called it) my booster seat.

I also had to readjust my seat. These seat jacker things are nice. They lifted the front of the seat about 3/4”. It gave me just enough extra adjustment that I don’t feel like I’m sliding forward in the seat all the time.

I also installed the Molle door panel inserts. It was kinda dark so the pics suck.

After these pics, I came inside and started discussing my new garage budget with my wife, but that’s a topic for another thread.

I need to get the leveling kit on the front and see if that helps any in the rocks.

I have the Truxxx 1.5" level. Quality product, laser cut steel, powder coated, very stout. I had their front and rear lift kit on my old Sport Trac. They have a 2.5" and 3.5" too. Assuming you're keeping the stock struts.
BDS is good too, it uses upper and lower spacers both.
Over 2.5" and you'll need aftermarket UCA's and consider them for 2.5". My Sport Trac had 2.5"F/1.25"R and I was replacing upper ball joints every year and a half.

I already have a 2” leveling kit, I just need to install it. It’s kinda cold out and I don’t feel like rushing… I’ll wait till it warms up or I get a garage.

I figure the 2” kit won’t amount to 2” after I put the winch on the front, so I’ll probably install them both at the same time and see where everything ends up.

I’ve got a few different ideas for the future with no set plan. Depending on which direction I go, I probably won’t need the upper arms anyway.
I may SAS the truck, I’ve read that the Bronco control arms will bolt on and give you a poor man’s long travel… I may try that, I may just put a real lift under it. This leveling kit is just a “try not to void the warranty right away” change.

With as much rack as these truck have, you could probably do more and get away with it. Especially with the winch.

SAS you say? That would be interesting to see what comes with that.

There’s other ideas.
Dana makes a D44 AdvanTEK that fits both the Bronco and the Ranger with 32 spline axle shaft outputs. It’s really only marketed for the Bronco, but it just needs a bracket installed the other way to fit a Ranger. I wouldn’t worry about bashing on 37’s with that FDU, RCV axles, and stronger a-arms. The FDU comes with an E-locker and whatever gear ratio you choose already installed for like $4k… it’s not cheap.

How does the Ranger steering compare to the Bronco?

I know the Bronco the tie rods are weak, upgrade those and then you start tearing up rack and pinions.

I think the upgraded steering rack for the Bronco will work in the Ranger… I know I can make it work.
