Small engine and big tires

i want to run 35's one day but my 2.3 has some work done to it right now. my mods are

.30 over
SVO mustang internals
port and polish
blue printed and balanced
decked
RV cam

my 8.8 and d30 have 4.10's and right now it smokes my 31's all the way to 3rd with a chirp in 4th.

i will be swaping out my 30 when i go to 35's...idk what gears but i will be for shure locked f/r :D

heck yea you would be fine with that tire size and a 4cyl if a carbed 22r can turn them tires a fuel injected 4cyl can turn them get 5.29s and you will be just fine. the motor can handle it and there is no need for a big gas hog v8 or larger v6 unless you do rock crawling and could use some extra torque. most yota guys will do a sas and 35s or 38s and see if they need a bigger motor for what they need

It's true that lots of people run 36's and 38's with 4 bangers, but they also smoke through clutches at a high rate of speed. I know a few guys with the 22re's down in Cali that run huge tires and they all say the same thing. They can replace their clutch in like three hours because they've done it so many times.

i had a 3.0 v6 with 35x and an automatic trans and i never had a problem i had 5.26s and my only problem was going over big hills and mountains

My ex got me nerf bars for my dodge because she couldn't get in (what a selfish gift).

That's it, all my gf's have been so jealous of the way I talk to, caress, pine for, and day dream about my trucks.........

My girl doesn't get me stuff, but she comes out to the garage and hangs out while I'm working on a project. She even asks questions knowing full well she won't understand the answer but nods her head anyway.

I tried returning the favor, and asked her questions while she was doing the dishes... I ended up having to dry/put away the dishes.

from what it sounds like i got a keeper lol, i forgot that i have a rear end from an 84 ranger, on the door sticker for model it says 44.......dana 44? if it is, is that strong enough for the tires???????...or is it the same 7.5?

Not a Dana 44... they were never factory installed in an RBV. A code 44 is an open diff with 3.73:1 gears if I remember right.

That is going to be one expensive bill for having a shop do an SAS. Yikes!

I would sell that truck and buy one with a 4.0, and put a TTB lift on it. The TTB is a good axle and can be made to perform just as well as a solid axle, at least, for what these types of trucks are used for.

IMO, a 2.3 truck with 38's and a solid axle is a silly and Expensive compilation! It seems there are just much better ways to spend your girlfriends money.

A 2.3 with 38's is going to be a gutless pig even with 5.13's.

id say if it were me....go with a 6 inch lift...keeping the TTB and swapping to a d35 and an 8.8 get some 5.13's and lockers for both with some decent 36's would still be driveable and very capeable.....and thats without spending a shit ton of money

you should keep the 2.3 and just deck it out and put some forced induction in it and just mod it out. i think a totally decked out 2.3L lifted with big tires and sas is pretty unique and would be cool....PS. post some pictures soon please!!! Good Luck. ya and with everyone else you better start saving for a really nice ring now....

yea im still here guys....right now my damn timing belt broke so im working on that before i get anymore ideas.....working on the pictures of the rig soon, i think you guys will like it.
