I am in the process of planning some engine conversions. The first is an 87 EFI 5.0 with AOD into my Ranger which currently has a 2.3 and the Mazda 5 speed. Its only a 150 hp v8, but if it got 25 mpg in the Lincoln, and twice teh torque at only 2000 rpm so it should do real good in the Ranger. The second is transplanting the Ranger 2.3 and 5 speed into an MGB. I can handle everything including electronics with no problem but I need some information about the driveshaft transmission yoke. What Ford yokes are compatable with what? I know that from some work I did years ago with my Fairlane that the Yoke of the 69 FMX will not fit in a 69 C4. So I wonder what is compatible. I will need to go junkyard shopping for driveshafts to use and want to know what cars I can use a shaft from. My ranger has a single shaft and as far as I understand, along with many other Ford cars uses the 1310 U-joint. So, what is the yoke of the Mazda 5 speed compaible with, AOD, C4, T5, etc.
