Slave cylinder problem

I replaced the slave cylinder about two weeks ago and everything worked great for that time but now the hose won't stay connected to the quick disconnect fitting. When I push the clutch in with the hose on it feels very soft until I get about 3/4 of the way in then it gets hard to push. Then if I push it farther then the quick disconnect pops off. Is the slave bad already?

Could be you are not getting it all the way on.
Because of pressure in the lines they don't always click all the way in place, that could be the sign if a bad Master, more later.

Open the bleeder and then try to connect.
If you have a helper have them push the clutch pedal down 1/4 of the way and with bleeder also open click lines together.

Then try to pull them apart, there is no way you can pull them apart if they are properly connected.

Lastly, with lines connected pump the clutch pedal a few times then open the bleeder.
There should be 0 pressure just a drip of fluid should come out, if you get a squirt of fluid then master is bad, or more accurate check valve in master is bad, but whole master cylinder needs to be replaced.
And this could be why the quick connect is hard to get on, there is always pressure on the master side and there should be none.

You can't press the clutch in at all with out attaching the hose first. But I did put it in with the bleeder open. I could pull the hose out if I pulled hard. It is the new type of disconnect that is different from the original style if you didn't know.
I tried the thing you said about the master cylinder and it is fine.
So I don't know what this could be except the slave. It seems like the slave is building up to much pressure but not releasing the clutch.
Thank you for the help.

Yes, could be the slave piston is seized, went out too far and got cock-eyed in the cylinder, so locked in place.

But you shouldn't be able to pull off the hose without releasing the disconnect.

The only "feedback" pressure you should feel on the clutch pedal is the pressure plate springs.

The slave has no valve inside, it just has the two lines, feed and bleed, and a chamber with a piston on one side.
Same a brake slave/caliper.

So it can't pressurize on its own, it needs pressure from the feed line, and it can't hold pressure unless feed line has pressure.

Ok so do you think that I should replace the slave again?

From your description, yes

But the disconnect has me puzzled

I called a tranny shop and they said that the clutch was probably damaged when the slave went out because of the hydraulic fluid everywhere. Is this true?
