skyjacker or superlift steering

what is the better option? the skyjacker extreme drop pitman arm or the superlift superrunner steering system? which one is worth the money?

There's a slight difference in price so I guess it depends more on how deep your pockets are.

It all depends on your suspension lift. If you have 6" of lift or lower, then the Superlift is better. If you have the 8" lift, then the extreme drop pitman arm is the way to go.

ok but is the superlift worth the 400 bucks. i have heard the idler arm joins to the centerlink wit bushings and they go bad easliy. so should i buy that or the s.j. or make a custom super lift look a like myself. i got a 6 inch suspension lift now

The Superlift Superunner steering is worth the money.

Actually, as it comes out of the box, the Skyjacker arm is far better, hands down.

If you modify the Superlift steering to lower the centerlink to where it's SUPPOSED to be however, then the Superlift (K-link) setup is superior.

If you don't have any means to modify the steering kit, go with the Skyjacker arm.

i can lower the center link. but how did you do it. could you send post some pics of yours lowered

Also, check out this page. It explains keeping the tierod angles inline with the axle, and should give you some idea about how much the centerlink will need to be lowered.

alright thanks well i have the superlift kit coming to my house sometime this week. i bought it used so when it gets here ill drop the center link and gusset the idler arm. should i only drop it 2"s??

2" will improve it a lot...
If you got 6" lift, then ideally you'd probably want to drop it 4" so it looks like the picture on the page I linked above. You would need to do more than just gusset the idler arm if you drop it that amount though, the width of the arm's upper end would need to be increased as well to reduce the bushings flexing.

alright well i will drop it 2"s and see how everything plays out and beef up some of the parts that look a lil weak once i get to see it.

alright i cant get it welded right now so would it be worth throwin it on until i get it welded. we are going wheeling in two weeks and i dont think i can get it welded by then

It may offer a little bit of improvement over running the standard 2" dropped pitman arm by itself, but IMO, I'd wait and get it out of the way so you don't have to go tearing your truck apart a 2nd time just to fix it right.

ya true that. alright well my truck steering wheel always shimmys while driving, and it shakes above 65... any ideas

could be bumpsteer, or other allignment issues, could even be bad wheelbearings
