Skid plates for 04 Ranger 4x4?

I recently bought a 2004 Ranger 4x4. 4.0, 5spd manual, 4.10 gears, it is the "Edge" trim. I went under it today to change the oil and discovered that there are no skid plates (WTF?????). I've had many Rangers and they all had skid plates over the transfer case and fuel tank. Are the FX4 models the only ones of the 5th generation that have skid plates? Any aftermarket skidplates available?

Basically yes. Skidplates were optional on Edges (most years) but you won't find many with them. Off-Road Package and FX4 Rangers will have skidplates.

Maybe. I'd just look in junkyards.

You can get skidplates from superlift and if that's not what your looking for just have a fab shop fab something for you, shouldn't be too expensive
