Does anybody know how tall a 4" and a 6" TTB SJ coil measures (removed from the truck)?

I bought a set of used 6" SJ coils, but they are shorter than my 4" unkown brand coils and softer too. So no the truck sits even lower than before..

That 6" coils I bought came off a Reg cab Ranger with a small block V8, I assumed they would be a little sagged, but 2.5"s seems a little much.:dunno:

I am running the supposed 6" SJ coils and a 2" spacer and it looks like I should still be using the upper hole in my SJ drop brackets. I am assuming I got screwed on the coils but I dont know for sure.

I believe my 6" Skyjacker coils were around 19.5 inches long (out of the truck) or so.

and my 4in SJ's are like 17ish

any chance to read a part number on them?

From my understanding the SJ's 6" coil sits 4.5" loaded on a supercab truck.

And they are best, and more easily aligned in the 4" bracket hole.

I do know that there is a pretty big difference between 4" and 6" spring rates, and even bigger when it comes to the superlift coils.

I believe the SL's 4" is 544 lbs per in, and the 6" are 410 lbs per in. SJ 4" being around 450ish, and it's 6" being right at 400 lbs/in. So you can see why a 4" spring may set a truck about the same level as the 6" especially with a heavy bumper.

Maybe a SJ 8" coil is in need. Tim (metalmacguyver) or Andrew? (compleckz) could let you know for sure, but they give a supercab a true 6".

My superlift 6" springs are used and sit at 19", my BDS 4" sit 18.25" new, and my BDS 6" sit at 20 new". I'm not sure of the SL coils, both the BDS are 420lbs.

The Skyjacker 6" set i have are 19" out of truck. Used.

I am also running 2" spacers underneath and they are still only getting me 3.5 - 4" of lift. I am assuming the coils I bought are actually 4" coils.

Well, I got in touch with the guy I bought the supposed 6" coils from, and he said they came on the truck and he was told they were 6". It sounds me like there is a strong possibility that they are 4".

well, usually when they are "supposed" to be, there is that chance. I'm surprised there wasn't a SJA134 or SJA136 P/N on the coil. I know the black leveling coils I had had a SJA132x on them.

Where is the P/N located on the coil?

I havnt measure the coils yet, but I will soon.

About midway down the coil on mine right next to "skyjacker" in white lettering. But mine were the later black, so could be different if yours are red.

So you are saying the number is painted on? If it was painted on, then its long gone, but if it was stamped in the spring I may be able to find it still.

I put the SJ coils on already so I cant measure them, but I did measure the unknown brand 4" coils and they are only 17.5" and the SJ coils are shorter than them. Id say they are like 16.5-17".

Here is a pic of the height difference between the 4" unknown and the SJ coils.
