Single Outlet Stack?

I just saw one on a Humvee the other day, they call it a "fording stack" for going through water. I have no idea why they had one on since we are in a severe drought...

They look neat on the Humvees because they follow the bodyline, I don't know how well the angled look will be on a bricklike Ranger. Make sure to get a curve or a raincap on the top to keep your exhaust from getting water, leaves and other debris in your exhaust.

I really do not care for them at all even on diesel pickups but they do have their uses offroad :icon_thumby:

Just curious, why you want a stack?

Is there a functional reason, or just looks?

There is no functional reason, to have one on a gas motor.

As long as your truck doesnt violently back fire, or shut it if (or kill it) water shouldnt be an issue going up the exhaust pipe.

Hot exhaust pipes on their own can cause fires, and you don't get all the downsides of a hard to crush dumped exhaust with bad sound and corrosive fumes like if it was dumped under the bed, but routing it outside the body like that would negate the advantage of it being hard to crush...

Brinker88 do YOU have ANY IDEA how big of an asshole you look like? last time i checked this was still the United States of America... i thought i could ask a question and get an answer... not get lectured by the staggering intellect you obviously possess... thanks to those of you who actually helped me out :icon_thumby: 'preciate' it
No offense kid but that was an answer, just not the one you were wanting, besides like YOU said this is America and everyone is entitled to their opinions and free speech. This is a forum and your gonna have to learn to take the good with the bad, take it as a life lesson. Not everyone thinks your ideas are cool and that whole thing about "of you don't have anything nice to say..."is bs. Anyways if you like it cool do it, but it will serve almost no use in real life situations because it's a gas vehicle, if anything out will give you a false sense of security like traction control or a body lift.

you're going to look like an idiot with a stack on a gasser unless it is one hell of an off roader. i live here in farm country where diesels are king, and stacks are even getting old on those, so don't say "its different" because you sound like a ****ing retard... its not different because stacks have been done forever. although, i bet if you put a raincap on it your buddies will think its cool so go for it.

Wow, so much hate. Its like a jammer thread all over again, why don't you just answer his question and not call him an idiot for wanting to add something to his truck that he thinks looks cool. Its his truck, not yours.

That is all.

well my ranger would have it on the passenger side... for that reason... and i dont want to go around the gas tank with exhaust pipe

it's your vehicle......go for it....pics when it happens....(they flamed me til they ran outta gasoline!)

naaaaaaaaaa....it was for all the newbie questions that i asked...you know...keyboard-hazing.....but it all made me the man that i am ;missingteeth;

Holy shit people. The poor kid asked a simple question and is getting a verbal ass kicking just because some people don't like the idea. You dont have to be a dick just because you dont like the idea. Seems like there is more flaming on this site than ever before.

Bahahaha. Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and they're all shitty. Get the chip off your shoulder and take it as constructive critizism. :icon_thumby: And trust me, I AM helping you out. If you like being laughed at, go right ahead then, as long as it suits your needs.

Personally I would not like it, but....

What stacks on a gas engine truck might look like from the factory. :icon_twisted:
