2.3L ('83-'97) Simple performance upgrades

I have a hotel reservation that I hope to be able to use. My son and I have been going since 1997, we missed 98 because of his high school graduation and 2010 because of his buddy's wedding. We were there Friday and Saturday last year and walked 23 miles- mostly in the swap meet.

Going to DIS is fairly simple, I cheated and just used the Ranger harness on the turbo engine and repinned the computer connector to work, but in the learning process I found a few things like THIS which is explained more HERE I think (I didn't read through it lately...)

With DIS there is one important thing I learned the hard way, the DIS module needs to be grounded to work (on the 3 screws used originally to hold it on, it has 4 holes, ONLY USE 3). It will run with the module not grounded but the module will black out occasionally and stall the engine... unfortunately for me that happened to be on a side hill in the sand dunes and I rolled the thing... that was 9 years ago now so I'm kinda over it but life would be easier if it hadn't happened...

Appreciate the direction, I'll read up on all that and let and let you know what I end up doing.
