Side-to-Side play in Ring Gear/Carrier Assy


That doesn't look like anything I've ever seen stock. Those u-bolt plates look a little wide to me. I wonder if they came from an F150? Anyway, the lift blocks shouldn't be able to move that far with the center pin in place. I'd definitely be taking that apart to see what's going on.
 
Yeah, there might be something not good going on with that block.

That said, blocks are not the best option for lift. They can shift, break, and they contribute to axle wrap which breaks things. The Chevy drop shackles and heavier springs or lift springs are the way to go.
