i built my system out of stainless milking tube with no muffler
yep the idea is to go through the body panel, put a heat plate on it, give it about 1/2inch clearance around the tube/panel. it takes a little work to clearance everything but it works well.

If you take your time and do it right you can get the exhaust to dump out without being under the spring hanger. Pretty much the entire exhaust needs shortened to do so. If you have a loud muffler it will be very loud inside
