I have 96 ranger and i want to cut of the stock muffler and replace it with a flow master series 40 muffler with 2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet and i want the exit of the exhaust to come in front of the passenger side and i was wondering has anyone every done this and does anyone have pics of it done and a parts list???

its been done, it will be loud and interior drone will be bad. but other than that it will look cool atleast.

Side Exit

Baby Turbo Angeled Up, 2 1/2 90deg Over The Top Of The Frame Rail-has To Be Flatten As It Crosses Over Frame. Straight To The Side. Use A Two Piece Tube Joint At This Area Or You Will Not Be Able To Remove. Clearences Are Very Tight But It Can Be Done. Line/cut Hole In Side, Sheet Area With Alum. Muff From Auto Zone-cherry Bomb Baby Turbo And 2 2 1/2 U-bends Of Different Radius. Jegs. Looks/sounds Sweet.

I'm confused :icon_confused:

instead of putting the exhaust under the frame and losing ground clearance so he put the exhaust over the frame between the frame and the bed!!

Its not bad in the cab, mine exits in front of the pass tire, and I hardly hear it.

Having 64" springs makes it a little tighter, so you have to put outlet a little further forward than a truck with stock springs.

Some older F-150's came from the factory with the exhaust exiting in front of the tire, but they changed it because the moisture and heat from the exhaust caused the wheels to corrode and the brake hardware to seize up.

I thought about doing this with my 88. I have a thrush turbo sitting from my cavie that I can use. Right under the leaf like that doesnt seem like the best place to me. when you start taking weight off the leaf does it want to push it down? Im just curious? I dont take my truck "off roading" but it does see pastures and fields on the farm.

yeah but there is enough clearance for the exhaust and the spring to flex all the way through its cycle..

Ok. cool. I asked because in Plum crazy's and in your pics it looks like its almost touching the leaf. But is that when its in the air at the end of its travel?

My pipe is actually under the hanger, not the spring. It looks close from that angle, but the pipe is actually 2inches away form hitting anything.
