Hello, I have a 98 2.5l 4cy and was considering bringing the exhaust out the side. I already have a glasspack but other then that a stock exhaust, i was wondering how much the tone would change when i bring it out the side with less piping, i dont want to be sounding like a civic. Thanks.

mine is out the side and dont sound terrible but def has the rumble to it i will prol change it in a month or two when i get bored

I had a glasspack with a pipe out the side on my 2.3L it sounded good. I cut the muffler off and now its straight-piped out the side... still sounds good, but it's pretty loud. I'm changing it soon...cuz I'm bored. haha

There is no way to make a glasspack sound good, do yourself a favor and get a real muffler and stop annoying all of the other drivers that have to listen to your glasspack

Idk...my 2.3 sounded pretty good with the glasspack (6 cyl. dont though).
I'm thinking about trying to make a Flowmaster clone to throw on mine.

I doubt the tone would change much out the side... maybe a little bit just cuz there's less piping...idk... none of us know what your truck sounds like now (and I bet you could do the same set up on an identical truck and have different resulsts)...and can we see the future. So I say just do it and find out :icon_hornsup:

lol i agree i never did like the sound of glasspack on anything, snap crakle pop.

I had a 98 ranger also with a 2.5 i put on a gibson exhaust on it and sounded pretty good but there kinda expensive.

Nice! Sounds good. I just finished my exhaust today. I had an old cherrybomb and some 3" pipe laying around. I put the glasspack on right after the cat, then angled the 3" out in front of the rear wheel. It sounds pretty good. I'll have to get a vid up.

im thinking of doing the side exit too. i always try to find exhaust vids on youtube but could only really find this, its the 40 series. sounds good but im going to go with the 50 series since its a little quieter and deeper.
