in all my retarded wisdom i thought itd be a good idea to offroad on a frozen lake. it was fun, till i decided to leave... wanted to whip another donut, and as i was etching forward i heard cracking...so i stopped dead in my tracks. realized, ok...if bad stuff can happen, it usually does to me...just leave. instead of reverse, i tried pulling forward to make turn around, and got a few feet before my front end broke through the ice...whole shelf collapsed. luckily, it was sludge instead of water....this is the only pic i took, i was shitting bricks because i was in middle of nowhere and it was new years eve...

so, i eventually got a tow truck to come out and winch me out for 400 bucks, he almost got stuck himself lol. before my truck got out the shelf it was sitting on gave out more and i was about headlights deep with my rear tires on top of the ice and my truck pointed about 45 degrees down. so now i learned frozen lakes arent always the best for offroading...

We are on frozen lakes all the time ice fishing, The trick to them are nice easy turns and low speed, A fast direction change or to much speed causes a wave of water under the ice. this makes a hollow under the ice and it can break open. really have to watch coming off the ice when getting near shore, the wave under you can really break it open, as it hits the shoreline. have fun just be carefull......

my friend just bought this land rover and decided to go ride some trails and this was the end result. an innocent looking river crossing swalled his 32 inch tires and front differential and his rear end was sunk down and resting on the frame rails and differential. we worked from 6 pm to 1 am trying to free the land rover with 2 jeeps, 1 5,000lb winch, 3 hilifts, a bunch of 1 inch thick boards and about a dozen keychain LED lights. it took a lifted superduty 2 runs to get it out which was about a total of 10 min. enjoy the pictures and have a laugh for us!

Me and my buddy went playing around in the mountains, and the snow was getting a lil too deep for my truck (somehow my ranger was plowing the way for a fullsize dodge on 33's, and he was actually having trouble following me) So we decided to turn around. Problem was, there was no place to turn around. So after a half mile of reverse, I decided to go for it and try to turn around. Got stuck three times in the deep snow on the side of the road, but finally got her turned around. My buddy kept backing up for two more miles after pulling me out all those times.

Oh and the picture was taken after we dug one side out

Two things. I'm not trying to be a dick, but when you are responding to a post on the last page, you should really hit the quote button, not just reply. When people see your post they will either scratch their head and move on, or be like me and look back through the thread to find a post that you might be talking about. But if you hit the quote button at the bottoms of the person's post, it will put a quote of that person's post, in your post so people know who you're talking to/ about.

And, secondly, it is not a big issue, but it is a 4Runner, not an Explorer! icon_thumby:
