short water pumps

i've been hearing about a short water pump for the 302, Is that a stock pump on something or is it an aftermarket set up, will it work with a v belt or just a serpentine.

There were two short 5.0 pumps, first was for the 88-93 T-Bird/Cougar and later used on the 94-95 Mustang. The second used the same timing cover, but with a different pump on the 96-2001 Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0. Both were reverse rotation pumps. There were a couple of std rotation aftermarket pumps, Ford Racing listed one and if I'm not mistaken, Stewart made both it and marketed it under their own name. Both these can use a V-belt stetup.
