I broke my hand recently and needed my spark plugs replaced on my 6 cylinder, ford wanted just over 8 bucks a piece for spark plugs and $45.00 to put them in.

Lawrence Kansas dealer

I'd pay someone $45 to do plugs in my 98. Just because I was curious, I got an estimate. $397. And that was the lowest bid

I picked up a set of plugs, wires, can of carb cleaner and intake gaskets that day.

Average rate here is $89/hr, though if you know the right person, you can get stuff done cheaper.

The shop I used to work at was $74/hr when I quit, but that was two and a half years ago and I'd imagine it's gone up a bit since then.

Right now the Ford dealership I'm pulling wrenches at is at $90 an hour

My neighbor charges $35/hour. Thats for anything, including the removel, replace, and install of my rebuilt 2.3 that took him 1.5 days to do.
