Is the Bilstein shock 24-185493 a good choice for a 1987 4X4 P235 tires, OEM suspension.

Many folks swear by them...

I know they're a bit stiff on road but work well off road.

The yellow bilstiens are softer than the silver ones aren't they?

I've never dug into the specs to know for sure. I probably would have if they even made them for the front of the SLA IFS Ranger models.

They're out there.. I put some on my 2010 shortly before kicking it down the road. Ill see if I can figure out where I got them and get a part number.

My 2010 was a 2wd though, probably different shocks huh?

All I'm going to do to this ranger is put some washers under the coils and new shocks.

2WD has a different ride height i think. shorter springs?

Your 2wd is different then the 4wd SLA... it has what some call a chicken leg on the lower end to provide axle clearance.

I think it’s more of a model thing than a color. The yellow Bilsteins I had on my CR-V were listed as heavy duty and had a stiffer damping rate.

Shock problem solved Bilstien it is. Now for solving the spring seat and isolator for the coil spring. Seem the auto stores are all discontinued. Thanks Dirty

well i got the front shocks ( Bilstien B8 5100 24-185509). the rear are nowhere to be found. I have had three funds return on ebay and amazon was no help. Bilstien dont sell to the public i guess, or i cant find the right web site. Trying to keep the same type shock on the rear but this is just mind boggling. The local parts stores say they cant get these shocks. Still looking, any help is welcome. Dirty
