I have just acquired my Dad's old (1992) ranger. 3.0L, auto, 2wd, XLT. I really love it, its become a daily driver. I want to tow my boat with it and it needs new shocks. The boat weighs about 1800lbs. I don't know what the actual tongue wt is. I already put a set of Gabriel Ultras on the front and was thinking of either Gabriel or Monroe coil over shocks, load carrier shocks for the rear. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I would appreciate it.

I use air shocks in my saggy ass b-II instead of changing the springs. I can keep the same ride and ride height regardless of load. I've towed a 6x10 covered trailer loaded with renovation tools with this and had no problems. Can't remember brand, bought a year ago at Napa. Keep the receipt if you go this route, I always seem to end up blowing a shock within two months of install, doesn't matter if its air or regular.
