Hello ranger fans!

So I recently started working on my 08 4.0L 4x4 ranger, last thing I did was crank the T bars, put new torsion keys in, put 2'' blocks at the back, giving me some height.

Now my problem is my shocks at the front are too short. I've seen people replacing the bolt at the top of the shock to give some travel, but that just seems like a quick fix and not one to last.

I've also seen people adding shock spacers, but that requires springs! which i don't have.

NOW... my final option if you ask me would be to replace the shock MOUNTS at the bottom, for longer ones, such as THESE:

Has anyone found any for rangers? If so could you please help me out? I don't have the time or the right tools to make some myself! THANKS! :icon_cheers:

How about the extended shocks that Rancho makes for our trucks? I just put a set on my sport trac.

Not sure if this would work but an option to possibly check on is using F150 shocks. I know when i done the lift on my 97 i used F150 shocks because they are longer. I don't know it will work for the torsion key setup as i had the ttb setup for my axle. If it does work i believe its the F150 from the early 90's maybe a 93 that had the biggest v8 engine in it if i recall. I think there is info on this in the tech library or search F150 shocks on the forum. Again don't know if it would work but it's an option to check.

Hmmm, I'm really not looking to change my shocks they're still in great shape, just want to give them some travel so i was looking into longer shock mounts, or ''brackets'' that hold the shocks at the bottom, thought maybe someone on these forums might have some installed! Thanks for the feedback.

The only extenders I have seen are the ones that thread to the top stud.

Note that the shock only needs to be around 5/8" longer for the torsion crank.

Edit:

Also yours being an 08 truck, you could use 07 front shocks as the 98-07 trucks were 2" taller than the 08-11 trucks. So your torsion crank pretty much made it the same height as an 07 and down truck.
