yay or nay? putting new shocks on all four corners of my dd and wanting to know the general consensus about shock boots.

If your rear shocks are mounted rod end down, definite yay. The boots will protect the shafts from getting nicked from rocks kicked up by the front tires.

The popular reason for the nays is they can collect mud inside them which causes it's own set of issues. However if you cut a notch out of the very bottom most pleat so dust & dirt has a way out, you shouldn't have any issues with crap collecting in there.

and if theyre mounted down? how bout the front shocks?

Never had mine come off, :dunno: but if your shocks are mounted rod up, then having the boots on (atleast with the bottom pleats notched) would probably be mostly for aesthetics. Outside of what I mentioned, they aren't really needed for protection.
