My '99 has had an interesting problem. The whole truck shakes when I start out in first and dwindles when I get into second, third, and so on. is it the friction disc worn out or the friction disc, slave cylinder and master cylinder?

Does the truck shake when it is stopped? Do you have an RPM gauge in your truck? If the disk is worn, rpm's will jump up when you hit the gas pedal and the truck will not speed up. This may not be a transmission issue at all.

Truck shaking, could be lose suspension components as well.
