I've seen these shifters here and there on the forum. What trucks did these come on and how do I get one?

I'm guessing those are the FX4 (Level II) shifters, but maybe someone else can confirm.

The FX4 LevenII shifters LOOK "cool" but are underneat it all functionally identical to the usual stock crap.

On the other hand the Hurst Biullet plus shifter looks just as cool bbut replaces all the plastic bits with big pieces of machined metal.

the hurst billet plus shifter is $219 from summit.

the FX4 Level2 shifter for ford is expensive enough to allow you to buy a spare hurst shifter AND take your girlfriend (or Mother) to dinner at Red Lobster.

Which would you rather spend your money on?

Oh, BTW, that doesn't include the price of the FX4 Level2 T-case shifter OR the boot assembly... those are even more....

I was just curious about the shift I wasn't worried about how it performs. I have a 2wd anyway so i wouldn't be needing a T-case shift.

btw red lobster sucks, I'm from Louisiana, there are WAY better places to eat seafood.

I personally refer to them as "Dead Lobster"

I personally won't eat lobster unless I can throw a potatoe and hear a splash.

Mentioning them was only as an illustration of expense, because while they might not be "good" they also aren't cheap.

Go with the hurst. Its nowhere near as expensive and four times as effective. Personally, I would have paid 500 for my hurst shifter ... I am in love with the "click" it makes when you shift into gear. Its addicting. :icon_thumby:

However, With the install of the Hurst shifter you must remove some of the sound deadening material .. Which in turn makes it a tad noisy. Some people find it too loud, others dont. You can always shove some dynomat down there or just turn up the radio. I got used to it... After a month or so it didn't even phase me.

ALSO!

If you want the leather boot look you can fab up a leather boot to fit with the stock shifter bezel/cupholder thing using binder clips (or anything else you can think of) to hold the boot around the bottom of the opening.

I went to Walmart and found a pedal cover kit that came with a leather boot .. The boot looks and fits exactly like the fx4 one (fake leather of course) ... It looked good for a $20 dollar boot .. I trashed the pedals. :icon_rofl:
