I have a Mitsubishi FM145 5spd trans in my '87 Ranger. There's a lot of slop in the shifter. I took the stick out and discovered the bushings are worn. The guy at the dealership parts desk told me the bushings come with a new stick as one assembly, P/N E6TZ-7210-C (not stocked). However, this item wasn't illustrated in the Ford parts catalogue. Is there a bushing replacement kit for this trans, or is this part the fix for my problem?

Thanx

The E6TZ-7210-C will fix the sloppy shifting. seen prices from $75-$150 depending of shipping and where you order it from. As far I know I have yet to find replacement Bushings by them self's.

Below is a Quote from my other posting about the Shift Assembly
My Truck: 1987 Bronco II 4x4 2.9 with Ford FM145 12 Bolt pan Transmission

Local Dealerships Quoted me prices from $281-$350 for new complete shifter Assembly.

Just bought complete Shift stick housing, Shifter Assembly, and Shift stick at T&B Transmission & Gear ( http://www.tbtrans.com) I got the whole setup, all I need to do is add my shift knob. Total Price was $129.00 + $11.00 Shipping to California.

Here are some link to help you find parts

I have the same problem with my 87 ranger's 5spd. I used some... jb weld... to glue the bushing on. It was nice and tight for about 2 years till this afternoon when I was driving to napa for some parts. Just took out the handle and sure enough... the bushing is loose and most all the jb weld was gone. I'll take a few pix and post em.
