My credo
Confused and Intolerant
My truck started today, tried cleaning the battery pole and it worked aparently, we were trying to just keep it going with the electricity, me hitting the terminal every time it cut out and it turned over, so I ran to get the camera, we put some starter fluid in her and she came back to life!

She is runnin pretty good too for a year without starting and 26 years of abuse =P.

gonna show the video once it uploads, but its no longer making the "tin can" noise, well, except for when it first starts up, you can hear it briefly, but this is the best its ever run!

(p.s. on break, swimming with buddy, post video when uploaded completely on YouTube, maybe in an hour or two or so).

good stuff man! should probably use an oil change and fresh gas now!

Anytime a vehicle starts for the first time after a rebuild or after sitting idle for a while is a reason to celebrate!

nah, it needs frame work and body work + a passenger body pan.

I figured brake and fuel lines redone, rust removal and bondo work on the fenders (for now), and some interior and mechanical work and she is road worthy, wait, also need to rig the back end up so its safe, the frame and all, need to cut the worthless parts off.

then it should pass, also, a headlight =P

Ah, just run it without the filter. Those old engines take a beating. I know a guy who has over 20K on his 302 without an air-cleaner on it though.

Sounds like it runs really well though.

I pulled it forward a little too and the tranny shifted very well, no issue and the idle was great! cant wait to get the lines replaced too =P.

It's not that hard. The worst part of doing brake lines on a truck that old is not breaking the one its connected to.

Well, that and then as soon as you get it bled and go to hit the brakes the next weakest one bursts.

yup, all 4 need redone, and want to do the fuel lines maybe too.
