I'm having one hell of a time trying to remove my bolts holding on my stock shackles:bawling:. BFH won't do it, air ratchet won't, starting to wreck sockets with the strong arm. Problem is I can't get the bolts through the inner sleeve. I have the differential jacked up to hold the weight. I'm gonna go back out now and remove my tires to save weight there. But I don't know if I should turn to heat cause the bushing in the leafs. :icon_confused:

Any advice will help a lot. Thanks guys.

Kyle.

If I'm thinking of the right area, try this;
Cut off the bolt head. Stack washers as needed on the other side and tighten the nut. This will pull the shank through the rusted metal sleeve.
Good luck,

Richard

I have a ball joint fork, or pickle fork I heard them called. But I can't get it behind but I could if I cut off the bolt head. Thanks Richard ill try that.

Thanks but I just said screw it because I already have an AAL in there and I never checked my pinion angle before I did it, and I dont want to mess it up with the shackle lift too. But I'll save them for my future ranger I want to buy and build. This one ill leave as is until more breaks, my rear end is on its way out I believe so when it's gone I'm putting a pair of 1963 f250 4x4 axles under it. That will be after I restore my 88, just bought a donor truck for the box and floor boards.:D

Thanks again,

Kyle.

Dunno where you get your parts, but the shackle kit from Dorman comes with a new spring bushing and both bolts. And the perch/ mount kit comes with the 4 12mm bolts for the frame.

Get the torch out. I had this fixed in 20 min.

Thanks ill look into that. But I'm up in Canada and never heard of that store. But has anyone done the belltech shackle lift with the add a leaf? I want to know if my pinion angle would be fine or not. That's what really made me stop when I was pulling the torch out.

Dorman is a manufacturer, not a store.

They redesign and improve OEM replacement parts.
