Setting TTB's at Ride Height. . .Jig or method???

How do you guys rig your TTB at ride height (without wheels/tires on them) when you're building a custom rig?

It's easy to do with a solid axle, but I've never had a TTB before and I've never thought about. . .I started thinking about it today and I was a little stumped. . .

. . .I was thinking jackstands under the crossmember and the spindles, but I don't think that would work. . .I think the beams won't allow a set of jack stands to fit under the crossmember, but I could be wrong.

What do you mean exactly by "rig" your TTB?

Are you asking where to put jackstands under it to support it while working on it?

I put them under the frame rails just behind the radius arm cross member. I have large blocks of wood i put under the stands to get it high enough to get the tires off at full droop.
 
Never mind. . .I realized I just wasn't thinking correctly.

I was asking what method you guys use to hold your TTB beams at ride height with the tires/wheels off when building a custom chassis & suspension. . .but I realized I just wasn't using my head. . .

. . .I was stuck on the pivoting TTB's wanting to pivot around the jackstand because I was thinking of placing the TTB's where I wanted them without the crossmember in place. . .which probably wouldn't work. . .with the TTB's mounted to the crossmember and the crossmember mounted to the frame I can support the spindles on jackstands. . .I was thinking of making a custom cross-member for a D44 swap I'll hopefully be starting this summer (assuming I can get my other to-do projects finished first).
 
Yeah you would need to have the pivot ends of the beams fixed to the frame (crossmember).

You could also figure it like this though:
The TTB beam pivots can be used to reference the axle centerline's distance or height from the chassis. On the D44 TTB, the pivots are same height as the axle centerline. A D35 has the pivots 1" above axle centerline.
Maybe that can help give you a reference to start with.

For lateral placement of each side, best way is probably to assemble the two sides of the axle and mock it up at ride height like above, then check the center slip-shaft so that it has at least 1½" of travel left before bottoming out.
