Does any know if the 2.2 Pontiac Sunfire motor needs to be jacked up and the top motor mount removed to change the serpentine belt? I do know its a real PITA to do it because I havent found an easy way to do it, even with a ($25) serptine belt tool. I called a local mech. shop and they said depending on the engine, its either a $15 job or $70 + 1hr if they have to jack it up, etc.

I already have the belt (gatorback so the damn thing lasts longer), but I cannot get to the tensioner. Either not enough clearance for a ratchet or the cheap serp. tools won't work.

good luck wit that its a pita use a short stubby wrench i have the same car and motor thats the only way ive found to make it work dont need to take the mount off
