Looking at the hopefully attached image. Should I go with a grooved idler pulley instead of the stock smooth(seems to me smooth may slide off while grooved would keep it in place)? New 4.0 swap into 90 BII w/o AC. Thanks. There were so many different routing diagrams out there for this one serpentine belt Gates K060806-92 4.0 ranger w/o AC. 2.3 has the grooved pulley of the same diameter. Routing the belt between the idler pulley and the tensioner left the belt too loose so I routed it over the idler pulley as one Ford place had diagrammed.
