Hi my name is matt i have a 99 ranger with a 3.0 flexfuel motor with 111,000 miles that has siezed up tried a socket on the crank and wouldnt budge. Prior to this it had a shutter n shake in the motor that my mechanic thought was injectors we change out 5 of them still had a shutter. wondering if anyone knows anything or if this has happened to anyone else. any help would be great. if anyone knows of a good motor for sale let me know.

thanks Matt

well just to start off wuts up. and not that you did anything wrong but the 3.0l will run for a long time but it is known to die if no oil or no coolant. so if you pulled codes and it said rich i guess over time it would wash down the cylinder walls and seize up the engine. wut we could use is any codes that were pulled and wut kinda shutter was it. did it shutter all the time or only when driven. was is rough idle or was it barely idling. otherwise sorry you had to find us due to this problem.

Did you leave it in gear? Once I was trying to turn my engine over by hand and it wouldn't move, I thought it was locked up, then I realized it was in gear.

Couldn't it be as simple as a leaky injector hydro locking it?

pray it isn't.

Cam syncro? The newer ones are known to go out and seize the engine if you don't change it... The cam syncro goes out and it takes the oil pump with it. Was there a whining sound too?

AS they said if there is oil and coolent the engine will prettymuch run forever.

thanks for the input my dad tinkered with it and had it running but he said it didnt sound to good. Not sure where to start or what 2 do. we tried startn it again but it wouldnt start. but i guess it is not seized. thanks matt

thanks for the info. my dad tinkered with it and had it started but didnt sound good tried it again but wouldnt start. so i guess its not seized. the shutter would start if i was at 45 or 60 just coasting and if i gave it gas it would stop. guess i dont know where 2 start first or what to do . any help is great thanks again,
