Seen the Trucks, Now Lets See The Shops!

thats alot of money for a box! i got the one i have in my garage for $300. I know, its not snap-on, but its bearing slides and 14 guage. its works for my needs of a small do it yourself garage.

And a 300 box worked well for my needs at home as well. I only got rid of it because I found someone willing to give me $1500 for it towards one I needed for work and let me bring my slightly bigger work box home.

When you think about how much money I have invested in the contents of my tool box and the fact that I'm a professional technician who works and makes his living out of that tool box, $5500 isn't all that much for it.

I'd never spend that kind of money on one for the home garage.

Thats what I try to explain to people. They see my tool box and think I'm nuts (snap-on master series, retails for about 14k for the top and bottom boxes), but I need a huge toolbox at work. Its filled to the point of having to buy a rollcart with drawers just to store everything! At home I only have a small craftsman setup.

All I got for work is a small craftsman setup right now. I am the "quick" lube guy. :annoyed:

Sno, may I ask how much money you have in tools?

No, you cant! :thefinger:

If I had to guess. I've been paying snap-on a minimum of 75 a week for at least 5 years, not including the tool box account (through snap-on credit, not the truck account.) So lets say 20k+ in snap-on tools, plus a good deal more. I've been accumulating tools for almost 20 years now.

I just decided to take a pic from all 4 corners.
After you enter the access code (I have keypad for the opener). Sounds impressive, like your entering a lab at NASA.

Well, I had to do a close-up of the tool box. Seems to be a common theme here.

A little advice for anyone that is going to build a workbench. I needed the bottom open to fit a larger object under it. Having a crossbeam between the front legs would not work for me (as seen above). My solution:
Drill 1/2" hole in the floor and corresponding hole in the bottom of the leg. Knock a length of rebar into said hole and position the leg on the rebar. That "pinned" the leg in place eliminating the need for the crossbeam.
