Well i seen my old Ranger yesterday. THe guy hasn't done much to it, but what he has i dont like really. He put euro tails on it. i wanted euro tails on it when i had it bot not ones like he has...i want all clear ones, he got the ones with all the red circles in them. Also, im a christian, but that sticker looks horrible on the truck... he also took the bedliner out (why ill never know) also he put that gay trun down chrome tip on the exhaust! Old man what can you say.

anyways on to the pics

Thats one of my fears. Seeing your vehicle being turned by someone else. Thats why I'm keeping my Ranger for life. I would rather have it die by me than abused by someone else.

ahh i know exactly how you feel. i traded in my 2001 ext cab 4x4 on 33's for my diesel. Every now and then i see it, just kinda ticks me off and idk why, sometimes i wish i woulda just kept that truck instead of getting the diesel lol.

This is why you develop emotional connections with people, not mechanical objects.

After what my ranger and I have been through, I find it hard to not develop feelings for it. I've put the poor thing through hell and it's never let me down. It's really hard to find a person that can do the same. I like my truck more then I like most people, it would be hard to watch someone drive off in it for good. But I'm kind of a softy, what can I say....:dunno:

Frankly I think anything other than stock taillights are kinda stupid looking.

The aftermarket tails draw attention to your vehicle

NO attention is "good" attention

And FWIW the "all clear" taillights are a ticket waiting for a cop to a working pen
and his ticket book...

I can only barely remember the last vehicle I sold that left me as a running vehicle.

I feel the same way with my CBR. I would hate to see it stunted or parted out. I just my Ranger and already starting to develop that feeling as well.

the only ranger i ever sold running finally met up with me 4 years later. i was taking parts off from it in the junk yard. it only seemed right to de-badge it and make a plaque for my bar. i used a piece of oak and mounted the license plate i ran on it, the dice that were in the window, the badges off the fenders, and a picture of it in its prime.

That's why my last 2 vehicles went straight to the scrap yard. Well, the first one blew a head gasket(Dodge Spirit) and the second one was at 200,000 miles and the subframe was not in the best of shape(Ford Escort).

Usually, if you find a vehicle you like and it's a 6 hour drive to get to the dealership, a trade in will usually mean you'll never see it again.

But yeah, someone else doing stuff to a rig I put so much time and work into, it wouldn't settle well with me either.

I have only parted with one vehicle, and watching its slow death wasn't all that enjoyable.

It started with later model rims, which I kinda liked, then a big stereo that made the car rattle, then came the body damage (hood bent in a V, mangled front end) from the punk rear ending a truck, then I heard the ad for a black 1990 Plymouth Laser Turbo RS for parts on the radio. Not to many of them in my area. :shok:

I thought about calling, but I can barely handle one project vehicle.

Kind of funny about the not trading local thing, my F-150 was sold new in Omaha, traded into a South Dakota dealership, purchased by a independant small town Iowa dealership at auction and then purchased by an at the time Omaha resident.

To sell my truck would be death... Being that im in college, I live at home, and to help me out, my dad pays my car insurance. (Thank God for good parents) But my truck is a project and i got another car. He told me when the insurance is up in November either the car the truck or both is gone. My choice. Sorry Grand Am, you've been dependable but the truck is the baby. Had it for 5 years and will never ever sell it. Ranger driver for life

i feel the exact same way as most of you, with my mazda being my first vehicle ive owned you get attached to it, ive learned so much just by having this truck, an seeing somone else just driving it would hurt, an ive been thinking about buyin a fullsize, an trying to convince my parents to let my get a third truck but they wont let me i have to sell on of my two trucks to get a fullsize, so i think im just goin to stick with my mazda that i love an has never left me stranded.

it was sad letting her go as i transformed her into what she is today (minus the things he has done)...

when i bought her, she was bone stock....i replaced the timing belt on her, water pump, heater coil, drive belt, and fuel pump (of all of these was my first time doing any mechaical work, and im lucky bc it comes natural to me) i give 3k for her in 2006. i put new wheels and tires on her, new sound system, kept her polished, she got hit one time in the side (lady backed up into her) had her fixed and painted.... shes left me stranded one time (when the timing belt broke) but i went and got her the next day and fixed it....ive take her across the state 5 or six times, up the mountain, sand, etc....and best of all I PAID for her! and i let her go so that i could get my current truck...but the ol girl didnt meet my needs any more, she was 2wd and reg cab....i needed more poer and room and 4x4
