Since blue, gray and red seem to be by far the most popular colors in car seats from the late 80's to the early 90's if I were to happen apoun a set of the infamous "halo" bucket seats they would probably need reskinned. Would the cloth sets for a Mustang fit seats from an Escort (do they just look similar or are they actually the same)

I haven't found a good pic of the tan they used in Mustangs (Desert Tan), anyone know if it is similar to the color tan they used in first generation Rangers?

Mustang vs. Escort GT seats

I have a pair of the Escort GT "Halo" seats and they are totally different than the Mustang GT "Halo" seats. The most noticeable difference is the Mustang has a pull out leg rest whereas the Escort GT seats do not.

That is correct. They are indeed different. I believe the seatback is a bit taller on the Mustang too.

The headrest seats all use the "Thick" backrest and these are to say the least uncomfortable in a standard cab.

The seats to look for that have the side bolsters and adjustable thigh support are those installed in some high end rangers 1988-94 and in Explorer sports.

And as all those seats are made by the same subcontractor parts can
be shuffled around

I personally prefer the high-back seats that have an integral headrest as they can lean back further without taking up too much room from the rear area (in a supercab/explorer/bronco2

Or forcing the driver into a rediculously upright position in a standard cab.
