Hey everyone, I was coming home from school tonight and my seatbelt light started blinking and the dinger was going off while i had the belt on. When i got home i just unplugged the connector for the seatbelt switch, tried it, and tried connecting the 2 wires together, both ways the light still blinks and the dinger dings. is there an easy fix to this... i dont care if that light doesnt works right or not i just want it to stop dinging. Thanks.

What year truck are we talking about?

sorry about that i forgot to put it. its a 2000 xlt ext. cab 4x4 flex fuel 3.0 auto

Thanks for the year model, and sorry, but I only know a little about the older ones. Be patient, and somebody will pop in and steer you in the right direction.

No one knows how to fix this? there has to be a simple fix for it.

You don't by any chance carry any school books, book bag, laptop, or anything in passenger seat do you? I have set mine off with too much there. I know that is why I lost the passenger airbag in the deer collision.

no its just the driver seat that has the seatbelt light. the pass. seat doesnt have the sensor for that its not new enough.

no one knows how to disable this chime? there has to be some way to stop it from dinging. does anyone know where the chime is located so i can just unplug it? i unplugged the door chime but its not the same chime for the seat belts.

Okay, I know this may sound a bit wierd, but....
It could be the seatbelt real system. I have a very good mechanic friend and he told me that he had a customer with the same problem (except no digning), the light would blink several times and then stay on steady. He bought a rebuild kit for the seatbelt reel and it solved the problem. Hope this helps!!!!
