Seat swap: '00 Explorer to '88 Ranger

I got the urge to do this recently and I accomplished it today with a fair amount of sweat and swearing, but it all came to a satisfying conclusion.

Removing the seats from the Exploder and taking the seats out of the Ranger were easy enough, although unfortunately I could not get the whole seat track assembly out of the Ranger so I could work on it out in the open, because the bolts were extremely rusted and were stripped to shit, leading me to believe someone had already tried taking them out and screwed the bolts up badly. I decided to try and bolt the seats in while leaving the track assemblies in place. This worked fine on the driver's seat, but I noticed the bolt holes weren't going to line up on the passenger seat. So I had to drill a new set of front holes in the seat tracks to get them to line up (see pictures). Even then, the holes didn't quite line up just right and I had a hell of a time getting it all squared away.

I'm probably going to put seat covers on, which is why I didn't care about the seats not matching the interior.

Hey thanks so much for the post! I was looking to update my seats in my 88 Ranger and did exactly what you did! It only took half an hour to install.
