hey im new here, my 4wd quit working lol seems like a pretty common problem, heard a nasty clunk and the 4wd went out, the lights for the switches dont light up either. before it went completely out it used to work periodicly when it wanted to..usually when i needed it most was when it dint work. i went through the tech section and searched the 4wd section, found the location of the module for just about every year of ranger except for mine, and i checked behind the seats in my truck and searched the whole cab so if its in there its pretty good at hiding. any help is much appreciated!! i miss my 4wd:bawling:

its a 93 longbox standard cab with a 4.0, 5spd manual

thanks in advance :)

Its common for the electric motors to go bad...Are you sure its not a bad shift motor??

i figured it out, the module was hidden behind the carpet on the back wall of the truck.

yeah it was the motor, i just wanted to test everything else before i started taking the shift motor out, the new one should be up at the parts store by tomarrow afternoon :D
