Hey guys I am on my 3rd set of stock fog lights:bawling:. Does anybody know where I can find stone guards for the 01 XLT stock lights? or if not purchase perhaps a design. I am working on a design but tips appreciated.

Well, you could move to a location that is less foggy...

What is the problem...breakage?

Put a set behind the grill (forgo the stock) and cover the grill with gutter guard or similar material...that's something I was going to do with a second headlight set but haven't gotten around to it yet...it also helps save your rad from road debris...

Cheap foglights will break alot easier than decent ones. PIAA's have always been decent and I've never had one break...yet. There used to be some stick on headlight protection material you could pick up at auto stores. It was thick, about 1mm or so. I've seen it, but never used it.

You can mount some from rigid industries, someone posted a video recently of them torturing them and they seem unbreakable for regular applications. Kinda pricey though, but then again if you continue down the same path you might just spend as much in stock replacements...

I recently called around about putting a clear bra on my car. A guy I talked to told also recommended I put the film (made by 3M) on the headlights and fog lights. It's meant to protect against rock chips, but several people have found it protects your lights from stones, and getting dingy looking.

Here's a write-up I saw on a Honda page:

I was considering those for when I replace my old headlight housings. Wonder if they work and keep the lenses from hazing/yellowing.

I would bet it would. The refinish kits just get rid of the layer of ugliness. I bet this film would keep that from occurring. And, it's got to be damn good for 3M to put their name on it.
