Did the seafoam treatment today, then took a 85 mile trip. Seemed to have better throttle response, and purred like a kitten the whole way. I poured it in the brake booster hose.

I'm a firm believer in Seafoam but there are "detractors" here that say it doesn't work. This is the only additive I use, being in auto parts for 25 years I have seen all these companies claim their product will cure everything. Seafoam sells by word of mouth. It says a lot about a product that people recommend and works and the best part is it's been around since the 40's and still works on the latest stuff.

What does it do and whats it for?

So when using seafoam, are there different variations for different uses and what's the best way to use it to be most effective?

Seafoam is a petroleum based product that you can use to clean your upper intake, valves, fuel lines and crankcase.

While vehicle is running, pour 1/3 can into brake booster hose. Make sure you keep engine running (you don't have to rev the heck out of it). Shut off engine and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Don't forget to hook your brake booster hose back up. Start engine and drive for about 20 miles or so. You will have some white smoke for awhile, that is the carbon burning off.

Pour 1/3 can in your gas tank and last 1/3 can in your crankcase. It is probably a good idea to do this 100 miles or so before you change the filters on both, as the Seafoam will loosen up a lot of crud that could clog them up.
