Is Seafoam any good, or is it all hype? is it safe to just put it directly into the oil filler? :icon_confused:

alot of people on here use it with good results but you need to change the oil shortly after you add it if you put it in the oil

I love it, the only thing is you need to be careful as to how you use it, it is very potent stuff. I personally would stay away from putting it in the oil because it will thin out the oil, but if your using it to "Flush the motor" that will be fine, dont run it long. Running the motor for 5 minutes with it in is one thing, putting 500 miles on it is another story. Putting it down the brake booster to clean in the intake works well although it can really mess up your o2 sensors. If you put it in the tank it works best, it will clean your entire fuel system plus the intake valves, ports and combustion chambers, where the cleaning it will make the difference.

If you put it in the oil, run it only about 500 miles max and change the oil. Everyone in my town raves about the stuff, so it must do something good. I currently have the cylinder on my chainsaw filled with it to dissolve the carbon build-up in it. After it sits overnight, I'll let you know if it did anything.

Also if you do put it in the fuel, and you havent changed your fuel filter in awhile, do it after you run a tank through, it will really clog up that filter. Remember, Seamfoam releases bad stuff, but where does it go?

Its great stuff...I ran it in the oil for about 30 kms and that was lots in my books, and i second the replacing the filters after.

I f**ked up what now?

I put the seafoam in my freshly changed oil (done last wednesday) now i need to replace the oil but do i need a new oil filter too its a purolater filter and it is brand new too (last wednesday)? :annoyed:

ive read that you use the vacuum line that goes to brake booster. only use half of it, then put rest of bottle in the gas tank....

Yeah that's what I heard too. There is some videos of it being done on YouTube

Sea foam in oil? Really? Might do that when my oil needs changed, my valves are dirty, i mean dirty!!

I know its been said before but i really think its important...if you put it in the oil, do it right before an oil change...like engine on for ten mins tops with the seafoam oil mixture. Thats my (cautious) advice

Guys, I put it in my 92 2.3l and I never changed the oil I ran a little over 1000 miles. If you use too much then yes you need to change oil, I ran about 3 bottles without changing it. If you only used 1/3 bottle or 1/2 bottle you should be fine till the next oil change. If you unconfortable dont go any farther than 1500 miles with it.
