screws for transfercase

I ned to know what screw goes in my transfer case to bolt to transmission. I pulled trans and transfer out while back and started to put them back in. trans is in and went to put transfer back in and the first screw I tightened pull the threads out of the transfer case. the screws that came out are 3/8-18. shouldnt they be metric? dont know the history on trans/transfer. It is a 94 m5od with 1350.

Early 13-50s used standard bolts. In 85 or so they switched to metric bolts on the 13-50 and carried that through till the end of Ranger production on the 13-54.
