I recently rebuilt the 2.3l in my 86 ranger (it is hodge podge motor with mustang and ranger parts mixed together). Due to a streak of good luck I came across supercharger off of a Scion TC for free (the bearings at the end of the shaft are bad, which is ok becuase it needs to be shortened anyways). I knwo that the TRD Supercharger is rip off of name brand supercharger I was just wondering if any one had any info on it. The parts number is 2E248-060 I am planning on running it on a stock bottom end (couldnt afford to go forged when i did the rebuild). i know this will drastically limit the amount of boost I can run, So my next question is what is a safe range to run on this motor (had baout 600miles since rebuild), I will also be running it with a carb setup. The carb is the thing I am most worried about i am using a 351CFM carb off of a 70s Mercury 302 V8, I know when you run boost you need a special carb design so I was wonder if I could retrofit the carb I have or if I am going to need to find a 2 barrel setup for it (I have zero experience running boost through a carb) I really dont need a big 4 barrel I dont think. I know supercharging a 2.3l Is a little unique since turbos are prefered on 4cyl but when you get something like that for free you dont complain.

What i need
Carb info (Can I retrofit mine, it is motorcraft 2100 i believe will have check the numbers again)
Info on Supercharger itself and if shorter shafts are available or if I will have to have some machine work done on it.
How much can I expect a stock bottom end to take (psi wise)

I know my trans and rearend aren't equiped for it yet but I will do those as they fail. Any help will be appreciated, I am new to building motors with boost but have some experience with turbo diesels (might have 350 V8 with a turbo off of a 6.0l Powerstroke build coming along next, also a freebie. For my 86 C30 of course I would never run a chevy motor in a ford)

Convert it to EFI using factory junk (except bigger injectors) and run it on Megasquirt.

Not going to EFI, they ran superchargers with carbs for years. i understand the benefit of having fuel injection but i alrady have everything setup for a carb and don't want spend all the time and money swapping harness' and intakes. I like the fact everything on my truck is manual/mechanical and really dont want to change it.

Mine is injected AND blown . . . (Just saying . . .)
