Say Hi to Katie

lame update:

i sold the shocks posted above, and made an order with FOA for 2 2.5x10" remote resi shocks with the high temp seals, billet top cap and rod end with replaceable heims.

why?

canti-lever. Brandon @ BTF approached me about prototyping it on my truck, and for the price i can't pass it up. not talking much in the way of numbers, i'm still paying less for the kit with shocks than the dixon bros kit is without shocks.

i was going to get an 8.8 to swap in at the same time, but i want to get the shocks on and cantilever done before summer vacation the second week of june. working about 10-20 hours a week at $8.25 an hour wont allow for that right now.

i'm liking the build. keep it up!

let us know how things go

well, i just dropped off the deposit to get the metal laser cut, heims and bushings, and tabs purchased. i'm hopefully trading my downhill bike frame for an 8.8 w/4.10 and a LS out of a 2001 sport trac (still has drums, will upgrade to discs and a super88 kit at a later point) plus cash on the other guy's end. kind of sucks that i once again won't have a bike, but i'd rather have my suspension done instead of 2 unfinished projects.

Your truck is looking good man! I'm gonna go with the same uppers from BTF that you have and run the 5100s also. I took my truck out this weekend and tried some air but my exhaust hanger busted and it knocked a small hole in my bedside (side-exit). It is also super bouncy so some upgrades similar to yours is how I'm gonna go for now.

That front bumper is sick too! Looks hella strong!

thanks man! if i had the choice now, i'd have just saved for a mid travel kit instead of the upper arms and all. the camburg coils have sagged to shit. makes a nice ride, but the only lift i'm getting is the 3" from the spindle now.

next decision is to do mid travel or long travel. both btf kits, long travel installed would be around 800 more than the mid travel kit (i wanted my m/t kit to have the fabbed spindle from the l/t kit for strength), but an added $1200 for shocks for long travel, vs $300 for mid travel.

traded my downhill bike frame + some parts I had for it for an explorer ST 8.8 w/ 4.10 and a limited slip + $250. headed to the junk yard tomorrow to pull off disc swap stuff, since the ST one is drums.

axle is all set. got a diff cover from ruff stuff, and their 8.8 swap kit that has new spring perches, spring plates, and u bolts. those guys really get their money's worth out of the USPS flate rate boxes haha.

i've decided to long travel the truck, instead of mid travel like planned. hopefully starting the parts collection soon with some hydro bumps, if not then i have some hook ups on king, foa, radflo, and SAWs, and will probably get the shocks first, then glass.

edit: $450 shipped for some SAWS with dual rate hardware sounds good right? 2.5x10" RR, with new reservoirs, hoses, bodies, top caps, pretty much everything except the shafts, pistons, and rod ends are new.

cool, btw, my first girlfriend's name was Katie, we are still friends, but for some reason her mom's work moved her to Canada o_0. We grew up together.

I'm pretty pissed, I came out of work tonight and my truck had an awesome scrape all the way down the driver's side. My favorite part about where I work is that 95% of the staff are newly licensed drivers. I tried to buff out the scrape, but there are these weird ridges in some spots of it. Time to look for fiberglass, then get it painted....

don't mind the hard line on the axle, the zip ties holding the resis on, and the excess gasket material around the diff cover and it's bolt holes. it's going to be gone through this week, and everything will be painted and re-assembled properly. i was in a mega rush to get done. these are just iphone pics, my camera has gone missing. when everything is off for paint, i will take more pics, and then figure out a way to get better pics of it all on the truck.

linkage from the axle to the canti-arms.
