hey guys me and my buddies are about to sas my 06 ranger to use as a recovery, and trail hauler. Any tips, planning on useing a dana 30 front from a yj jeep and leaf springs my buddy is a certified welder and we have a plasma cutter so for the most part we are set just need to get the parts and plan it out

The best thing would probably do a search for 98+ swaps and run through those threads (theres more than a dozen floating around here). Those should pretty well fill you in on any issues, things they may have liked to do better, etc.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the site. :icon_thumby:

really the best thing to do is not use a POS axle like a d30, go with a d44 if you plan on using it for anything more than a street princess:icon_thumby:

:bad:D30

I couldn't hack up a truck that new (if it's in any kind of shape at all) the d.35 IFS is pretty tough if you aren't just doing it for a cheap way to lift it. But there are several build threads on here, use search feature and look around.
